A Facility Designed to Support and Enhance the Agro-Processing Sector in Tobago
Tobago, previously referred to as the breadbasket of the twin isle state of Trinidad and Tobago, is now more recognised as a tourism destination. In recognition of the over dependence on tourism, there is now a focus on the development and diversification of the economy, with agro-processing being one of the targeted sectors. In support of the development of this sector, E-IDCOT is establishing an agro-processing facility which can be accessed by farmers and agro-processors.
This initiative is intended to stimulate the local agricultural sector, strengthen the island’s budding manufacturing sector and provide new investment opportunities for the private sector.
